Stadiums must have a secure area that can be used as a broadcast compound for parking TV companies’ outside broadcast vans. The area must be at least the following size:

The broadcast compound must:

be located adjacent to the stadium, ideally on the same side as the main camera platform, with a power supply available;

provide a clear, solid and flat parking area for large and heavy vehicles (>40-tonne trucks);

have sufficient drainage such that no cables, equipment or vehicles are in danger of being in contact with standing water;

be free of any obstructions, such as trees, buildings and curbs, and offer unimpeded access to emergency vehicles;

either offer a clear, unobstructed view of the southwestern to the southeastern horizon, or be within 50m of a separate satellite uplink area (measured from the edge of the broadcast compound);

be lit to an average vertical illuminance of at least 100 lux to enable broadcasters to work at night;

include sufficient facilities, such as rubbish bins and toilets.
