As a rule, a player or team official sent off by the referee is automatically suspended for the next match in the competition. In the event of a serious offence, the UEFA disciplinary bodies are entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions.
Players and team officials are suspended for the next competition match after two cautions and any subsequent even-numbered caution (e.g. fourth, sixth).
In the UEFA Women's Nations League phase:

Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension expire on completion of the league stage. They are not carried forward to the play-offs of the Women's European Qualifiers.

Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension from the play-offs for the Women's European Qualifiers expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Pending yellow-card suspensions from the Women's European Qualifiers league stage or play-offs expire on completion of the Women's European Qualifiers phase. They are not carried forward to the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
