If two or three play-off paths are formed (see Paragraph 16.01a and b), the play-offs are played in single-leg knockout matches. If there is no winner at the end of normal time, Paragraph 22.01 applies. The teams from pot 1 and pot 2 play their semi-finals at home. The winners of the semi-finals that involved teams from pot 1 host the play-off finals. The winners of the play-off finals qualify for the final tournament.
If four play-off ties are formed (see Paragraph 16.01c), each team plays its opponent twice, once at home and once away. The seeded teams play the second leg at home. The team that scores the greater aggregate of goals in each tie over the two legs qualifies for the final tournament. If the two teams involved in a tie score the same number of goals over the two legs, Paragraph 22.02 applies.
