Friendly matches organised within the framework of the centralisation of commercial rights are also played on the dates indicated in the 2026–28 National Team Match Calendar (see Annex A).
Friendly matches may have to be cancelled or postponed for the purpose of rescheduling abandoned or cancelled competition matches.
With the exception of matches involving England, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland or Wales, teams competing in the final tournament are not allowed to play friendly matches in the host countries from three months before the start until one month after the end of the final tournament.
In the month preceding the final tournament, each participating team is allowed to play a maximum of two friendly matches involving other participating teams, provided that the teams playing each other have not been drawn into the same final tournament group.
