Players must be allocated numbers between 1 and 23 for the qualifying competition, and between 1 and 26 for the final tournament. If the number 1 is used, it must be worn by a goalkeeper.
Players cannot change numbers during the final tournament (except for cases described in Paragraph 32.05). These numbers must be displayed at chest height on the front of the shirts and the players’ names must be added above the numbers on the back.
