The play-offs are played according to the knockout system, with each team playing each opponent twice, once at home and once away. The team that scores the greater aggregate of goals over the two legs qualifies for the next stage of the competition. Otherwise, the provisions of Article 22 apply.
The ties for the play-offs are determined by means of an open draw. In each tie, the team drawn first plays their first leg at home.
