Article 15 Overall rankings - Under-17

15.01

On completion of round 1, an overall ranking is established according to the criteria listed in Paragraph 15.03. Because the groups in round 1 are different sizes, the results of matches against the fourth-placed team are not taken into account for the purposes of comparing the teams placed first, second and third in their respective group.

15.02

On completion of round 2, an overall ranking is established for each league according to the criteria listed in Paragraph 15.03. Because the groups within round 2, League B are different sizes (and in League A, in exceptional cases), the results of matches against the fourth-placed team are not taken into account for the purposes of comparing the teams placed first, second and third in their respective group.

15.03

To establish the overall rankings, the following criteria are applied in the order given:

1. higher position in the group (if applicable, League A teams are ranked from rank 1 to 28, followed by League B teams ranked from rank 29 downwards)

2. higher number of points

3. superior goal difference

4. higher number of goals scored

5. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received by players and team officials (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points)

6. higher position:

   1. in the qualifying round coefficient rankings for round 1 (see Annex A), and

   2. in the overall rankings on completion of round 1 for round 2 (see Paragraph 15.01).
