On completion of each round in the qualifying competition, individual league rankings are established according to the criteria listed in Paragraph 15.02. For League B, the results of matches against fourth-placed teams are not taken into account for the purposes of ranking group winners, runners-up or third-placed teams. For the purpose of ranking fourth-placed teams, all matches are taken into account. The same applies to League A only if League A contains groups of different sizes; otherwise all matches are taken into account. Combined overall rankings are then established for rounds 1 and 2, in which the League A rankings are placed above the League B rankings (League A teams in positions 1 to 28, League B teams in positions 29 and below).
To establish the league and overall rankings, the following criteria are applied in the order given:
-
Higher position in the final group standings (see Paragraph 13.03);
-
Higher number of points in the matches taken into account for the league and overall rankings;
-
Superior goal difference in the matches taken into account for the league and overall rankings;
-
Higher number of goals scored in the matches taken into account for the league and overall rankings;
-
Lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received by players and team officials (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = 3 points) in the matches taken into account for the league and overall rankings;
-
Round 1: higher position in the current season's access list (see Annex B), or
round 2: higher position in the overall rankings compiled on completion of the current season's round 1 (see Paragraph 15.01), or
round 3: higher position in the overall rankings compiled on completion of the current season's round 2 (see Paragraph 15.01).
