63.01

As a rule, a player or a team official sent off from the field of play and/or its immediate surrounds, including the technical area, is automatically suspended for the next match in the competition. In case of serious offences, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions.

63.02

Players and team officials are suspended for the next competition match after two cautions and any subsequent even-numbered caution (e.g. fourth, sixth).

63.03

In the UEFA Nations League phase:

  1. Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension expire on completion of the league stage. They are not carried forward to the promotion and relegation matches, the UEFA Nations League finals or the league stage of the European Qualifiers phase.

  2. Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension from the promotion and relegation matches and the UEFA Nations League finals expire at the end of the UEFA Nations League phase. They are not carried forward to the European Qualifiers phase.

  3. Pending yellow-card suspensions from the league stage, promotion and relegation matches or the finals of the UEFA Nations League expire on completion of the UEFA Nations League phase. They are not carried forward to the European Qualifiers phase.

63.04

In the European Qualifiers phase:

  1. Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension expire on completion of the league stage. They are not carried forward to the play-offs for the final tournament or the UEFA Women's EURO 2025.

  2. Cautions that have not resulted in a suspension from the play-offs for the final tournament expire on completion of the play-offs. They are not carried forward to the UEFA Women's EURO 2025.

  3. Pending yellow-card suspensions from the European Qualifiers league stage or play-offs for the final tournament expire on completion of the European Qualifiers phase. They are not carried forward to the UEFA Women's EURO 2025.

63.05

In the final tournament, cautions that have not resulted in a suspension expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.

63.06

Cautions and pending yellow-card suspensions from the final tournament expire at the end of the competition.
