Article 81 Responsibilities regarding media matters – final tournament - Women's EURO

81.01

Each participating association must appoint an English-speaking team press officer for the whole tournament to coordinate media matters in cooperation with UEFA and the media, in accordance with UEFA’s rules and regulations. The team press officer assists UEFA with access to interviews, training sessions and other team media activities, as well as providing operational information, content and statistics as requested. The team press officer must attend all team media activities, travel with the team to all matches and work alongside the UEFA media officer at the match venues.

81.02

Teams must cooperate to the fullest extent possible with access and interview requests from UEFA media platforms before, during and after the competition. Each team must provide UEFA with access to all players in their squad, the head coach and the assistant coach for a squad access day in order to gather the following content for host broadcaster operations and UEFA digital platforms:

1. a green screen filming session with all players, the head coach and the assistant coach;

2. a photography session, at two stations, with all players, the head coach and the assistant coach;

3. a digital/corporate content session with 10 players and the head coach;

4. an interview session with two players and the head coach.

UEFA and the association will agree in advance on the date, time and location of the squad access day and on which players will be made available. Each team’s squad access day will take place no later than four days before the team’s first match in the final tournament unless alternative arrangements are agreed by the team and UEFA. If a selected player becomes unable to participate in any part of the squad access day, the association must inform UEFA as soon as reasonably possible, and ensure that another player is made available as a replacement, or another suitable alternative is provided that is acceptable to UEFA.

81.03

Teams participating in the final tournament should offer an international media opportunity in the week immediately preceding their arrival in the host country. The exact timings are to be agreed in advance with UEFA. The international media opportunity should consist of a press conference with the head coach, a fully open one-hour training session, one-to-one interviews with the head coach and key players for audiovisual rights holders, and a mixed zone. Audiovisual rights holders should receive a minimum of two interviews each. In principle, a minimum of eight players must be made available.

81.04

For the final tournament, all team media activities at the match stadium are coordinated by UEFA.

81.05

Access devices for final tournament matches and official media activities are managed and distributed by UEFA.

81.06

UEFA is responsible for the accreditation of all media representatives and may withdraw an accreditation or take measures against media representatives at any time. UEFA may consult the participating associations regarding the accreditation of media representatives from their countries as part of the validation and arbitration process.

81.07

Each participating association can set up a media centre at or close to its team base camp in accordance with UEFA’s specifications. Media representatives with final tournament accreditations issued by UEFA must be granted access to this media centre. Associations may also issue their own media centre access passes to bona fide media representatives without UEFA accreditations.

81.08

Each team must hold a daily media activity, in accordance with UEFA’s specifications, featuring a minimum of two spokespersons in the form of a press conference, a mixed-zone or an alternative format agreed with UEFA in advance. The team is responsible for the technical set-up of its remote media activities. In addition, teams may hold only one fully closed training session before each match. All other training sessions must be open to the media for at least 15 minutes.

81.09

For the final tournament, the following restrictions apply:

1. No media representatives are allowed on the field of play before, during or after the match, with the exception of the host broadcaster for approved operations.

2. Non-authorised media representatives are not allowed on the field of play or the area between the boundaries of the field and the spectators. Only media representatives who have been granted permission by UEFA, such as photographers, audiovisual rights holders and the host broadcaster for approved operations, are allowed in such areas to carry out their work in the specific locations assigned to them.

3. No media representatives are allowed in the players’ tunnel or the dressing room area, except for flash interviews in UEFA-approved positions and for approved host broadcaster operations.

4. The dressing rooms are off limits to media representatives before, during and after the match except for approved host broadcaster operations. A short presentation may be conducted in a team’s dressing room on matchday, before the arrival and subject to the agreement of the team in question. This filming will be supervised by UEFA and may be conducted only by the main audiovisual rights holder(s) of the relevant team’s country.
