If there is no winner at the end of normal time in a semi-final or the final, extra time consisting of two 5-minute periods of effective time is played. If the two teams are still equal after extra time, the winner is determined by a penalty shoot-out (see Paragraph 17.04).
If there is no winner at the end of normal time in the third-place match, no extra time is played. A penalty shoot-out determines the winning team (see Paragraph 17.04).
If extra time is required, there is a five-minute break between the end of normal time and the start of extra time. As a rule, the players remain on the field of play during this five-minute break, at the discretion of the referee.
Penalties are taken in accordance with the procedure laid down in the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game.
