In the round of 16 and quarter-finals, if the two teams involved in a tie score the same number of goals over the two legs, two 5-minute periods of extra time are played, at the end of the second leg. If the two teams are still equal after extra time, the winner is determined by a penalty shoot-out (see Paragraph 20.05).
If there is no winner at the end of normal time in a semi-final or the final, two 5-minute periods of extra time are played. If the two teams are still equal after extra time, the winner is determined by a penalty shoot-out (see Paragraph 20.05).
If there is no winner at the end of normal time in the third-place match, no extra time is played. A penalty shoot-out determines the winning team (see Paragraph 20.05).
If extra time is required, there is a five-minute break between the end of normal time and the start of extra time. The players remain on the field of play during this five-minute break, at the discretion of the referee.
Penalties are taken in accordance with the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game.
