The four League A group winners and the four League A runners-up participate in the quarter-finals.
The quarter-final pairings are referred to as quarter-final 1, quarter-final 2, quarter-final 3 and quarter-final 4 and are determined by means of a draw. The League A group winners are seeded and are each drawn against a runner-up from a different group. Additional draw conditions may be applied, subject to approval by the UEFA Executive Committee.
The quarter-finals are played according to the knockout system, with each team playing its opponent twice, once at home and once away. The runners-up of each group in League A play the first leg at home. The team that scores the greater aggregate of goals in the two matches qualifies for the semi-finals. Otherwise, the provisions of Article 18 apply.
The semi-finals, third-place match and final are played in single-leg knockout matches at stadiums designated by the UEFA Executive Committee.
The semi-final pairings are determined by means of a draw. Draw conditions may be applied, subject to approval by the UEFA Executive Committee.
For administrative purposes, the first team is considered Team A and the second Team B. If a host association team is a semi-finalist, its semi-final is considered Semi-final 1 and the host association team is considered Team A.
The winners of the two semi-finals contest the final and the two teams defeated in the semi-finals contest the third-place match. The winner of semi-final 1 is considered Team A for the final, and the defeated team of semi-final 1 is considered Team A for the third-place match.
The winner of the final is declared the UEFA Nations League winner.
