19.01

In the knockout phase, the 22 teams that qualify at the end of the UEFA Champions League path league phase are joined by the 10 winners of the third round of the domestic champions path, as illustrated in Annex B.

19.02

The fixtures for the round of 32 are determined by means of a draw, conducted in accordance with the following principles:

  1. The clubs finishing the league phase of the UEFA Champions League path in positions 1 to 6 are seeded and will be drawn against the clubs finishing the league phase of the UEFA Champions League path in positions 17 to 22.

  2. The winners of the third qualifying round of the domestic champions path are seeded and will be drawn against the clubs finishing the league phase of the UEFA Champions League path in positions 7 to 16.

  3. In principle, clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

  4. In principle, the seeded clubs play the round of 32 matches at home.

19.03

The fixtures for the round of 16 are determined by means of a draw, in accordance with the following principles:

  1. The 16 winners of the round of 32 qualify for the round of 16.

  2. In principle, clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

  3. In principle, the club drawn first in each tie plays the round at home.

19.04

The fixtures for the quarter-finals are determined by means of an open draw, in accordance with the following principles:

  1. The eight winners of the round of 16 qualify for the quarter-finals.

  2. In principle, the club drawn first in each tie plays the round at home.

19.05

The semi-final pairings and the clubs considered home club for each semi-final match are determined by means of a draw.

19.06

The club considered the home club for the final is determined by means of a draw.

19.07

The UEFA administration may determine alternative conditions for each draw in accordance with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee and may adapt the conditions of the draw or directly assign positions to take into account any relevant constraints in light of decisions taken by the UEFA Executive Committee.
