The competition is open to the following teams:
-
The youth teams of the 36 clubs which qualify for the league phase of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UEFA Champions League path);
-
the domestic youth champions of all 55 national associations (domestic champions path) drawn up in accordance with Annex A. The relevant domestic youth championship, i.e. U17, U18 or U19 domestic championship, is defined by the national association and validated by UEFA.
The UEFA Youth League titleholder is guaranteed a place in the second round of the domestic champions path if it does not qualify for the competition in accordance with Paragraph 3.01. If the titleholder is already qualified, the access list is rebalanced accordingly with priority given to the club of the best ranked association of the relevant round in the access list.
If there is a vacancy in the UEFA Champions League path, replacement criteria will be defined by the UEFA administration and communicated in writing.
If a club qualifies for both the UEFA Champions League path and the domestic champions path, it automatically participates in the UEFA Champions League path and the vacancy in the domestic champions path is, in principle, filled by the runner-up of the domestic championship of the respective national association that created the vacancy. In case the runner-up has qualified via the UEFA Champions League path, the vacancy is not filled, and the access list is rebalanced accordingly with priority given to the club of the best ranked association of the relevant round in the access list.
