Maximum working hours per week must not exceed:
72 hours per week; and;
an annual average of 40 hours per week.
This means that if staff works 60 hours (5x12 or 6x10) in a certain week, this needs to be compensated by a work week of 30 hours (within 4 months) to comply with the maximum average.
If an employee qualifies as night worker (see below), the maximum working hours per week must not exceed 40 hours.
