A non-EEA national, legally employed by a company in a EU member State, may apply for a permission to temporarily enter Ireland in order to service a contract. This is known as a “Van der Elst “ Permission and, if the non-EEA national is visa required, they must apply for the appropriate visa, details of same can be found here: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming-to-work-in-ireland/what-are-my-work-visa-options/applying-for-a-long-stay-employment-visa/van-der-elst-visa/van-der-elst-policy-document/
In order to enter the State under permission granted on the basis of the Van der Elst ruling, a visa required national must first apply for an Employment (Van der Elst) Visa using the online visa application system (AVATS). When entering type of visa required choose “other” from the drop down menu and enter “Van Der Elst – UEFA Europa League Final 2024” in the text box.
A non-EEA national but non-visa required national must apply for “Van der Elst” Permission directly from the Immigration Control Officer at point of entry to Ireland.
