Special rules apply to staff who are considered “night workers”. A staff member will be considered a “night worker” if they normally work more than 2 hours between 23h00 and 6h00 or perform during those hours night work on at least 48 days per calendar year.

Maximum working hours per day for a night worker is 10 hours, when on average over a reference period of 4 weeks the working time is not more than 8 hours. This means that the employee can work up to 10 hours on a day so long as the daily average working time (over a consecutive 4-week period) does not exceed 8 hours per day.

Maximum working hours per week for a night worker is 60 hours.
