Applicants for Schengen visas are required to follow the procedure described below under Section “Special Regime for UEFA EURO 2024”.
Applications should be submitted as soon as possible and must in principle be submitted to the relevant embassy or consulate at least 15 days before the start of the intended journey. It is recommended to check the embassy’s/consulate’s information on visa appointment procedures early in advance and to submit the application as early as possible. Depending on the number of applicants, waiting periods to get an appointment for the visa application might occur.
As a rule, once a Schengen visa application has been submitted, a decision is taken within 15 calendar days. This may be extended to 45 days if a more detailed examination of the application and/or additional documentation is required.
