Maximum working hours per week must not exceed:
maximum 60 hours per week; and
a maximum average of 48 hours per week in each 24-week period.
This means that over a period of 24 weeks, maximum 1152 working hours may be planned while considering the maximum average working time per period. For example, if staff works 60 hours (6x10) in a certain week, this needs to be compensated by a work week of 36 hours (within the 24-week period) to comply with the maximum average of 48 hours.
If an employee qualifies as night worker (see below), the maximum working hours per week must not exceed 48 hours.
