The intended use of the goods in Norway determines whether temporary importation is permitted and which formalities must be fulfilled. Importation under the procedure of temporary importation may only take place for specific purposes specified in the regulations (cf. Sections 4-6-3 and 4-6-4 of the Movement of Goods Regulations).
Equipment and materials intended for use at sports events of an international nature may be imported under the procedure of temporary importation (cf. Section 4-6-3, first paragraph, letter d, of the Regulations relating to the movement of goods).
While each country has its own temporary import regime, it is recommended to use an ATA Carnet.
