32.01

The First Chamber and Appeals Chamber issue their decisions in writing.

32.02

In principle, decisions are issued without grounds and only the operative part of the decision is notified to the parties, who have five days following the notification to request, in writing, a decision with grounds.

32.03

A reasoned decision contains:

  1. the date and place of the decision;

  2. the names of the members of the chamber who took part in the deliberations;

  3. the name of the defendant/appellant;

  4. a summary of the relevant facts and evidence as well as the grounds upon which the decision is based;

  5. the operative part of the decision, including the allocation of any costs;

  6. the signature of the chair of the First Chamber or Appeals Chamber;

  7. a notice of the applicable appeal conditions.
