Bidders may use the designation "candidate for" or "bidding for" alongside the name of the relevant UEFA competition, UEFA final or UEFA final phase (or any other term chosen by UEFA and notified to the bidders to designate the UEFA final or UEFA final phase) (the "UEFA Terms") in promoting their involvement in the bidding procedure, provided that:

  1. any designation incorporating the UEFA Terms and/or any other mark, drawing, symbol, emblem, designation or name likely to be inferred by the public as identifying with UEFA or UEFA’s competitions (together the “UEFA Elements”) shall be subject to UEFA’s prior written approval;

  2. the UEFA Elements are not given greater prominence than the relevant other elements of the designation; and

  3. the bidder shall not apply to register any designation incorporating any UEFA Elements without UEFA’s prior written approval.

Each bidder shall ensure that its use of such designation conforms to any guidelines that UEFA may issue from time to time.

18.02

Bidders and their ambassadors are entitled to promote their involvement in bidding procedures and key aspects of their bid dossiers provided that they do not:

  1. adopt or use any mark, drawing, symbol, emblem, designation or name which incorporates or is confusingly similar to the UEFA Elements other than the approved designation referred to above; or

  2. promote their involvement in any way at or in connection with any UEFA competition and competition matches or any event organised by UEFA;

  3. involve any sponsorship arrangement with, or rights of association in favour of, any third party unless otherwise approved in writing and in advance by UEFA pursuant to Article 20.

18.03

Bidders shall cease to promote their involvement in the bidding procedure on the date on which their involvement in the bidding procedure terminates. After this date, all bidders (including the appointed hosts) must cease to use and must ensure that all third parties cease to use, any and all of the promotional material created and/or developed in connection with their involvement in the bidding procedure (including any permitted designation). In addition, bidders must cancel any registration for their designation incorporating any UEFA Elements that was approved by UEFA pursuant to (c) above.
